Mission Statement

The mission of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computer Technologies is based on that of a research university: an institute for higher education where, in close interdependence, excellence in teaching and research is pursued.

The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computer Technologies covers a wide field of research and is made of  four (4)  very distinctive Schools and Colleges. With courses that range from biology, physical geography, earth and environmental science, physics, astronomy and mathematics, College of Sciences and Mathematics  is a vibrant part of Republic University. Our School of Computer and Information Technologies will cover areas such as informatics technologies and will surprise you with the numbers of diplomas offered in a large spectrum of subjects.

Its research programme, in which multidisciplinary developments are stimulated alongside excellent mono-disciplinary research, has placed the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Computer Technologies in a leading international position.

The School of Engineering is offering a wide variety of courses that reflected the engagement of our university for this central field of human activities.

The College of Innovative Sciences (which include nanotechnologies as well as Robotics) will surprise you with his venture in the cutting edge technologies world. We have a mission in this College to promote, enhance and create new scientific opportunities that will be for the best of human kind. Our long association with leading names of the industrial sector insures our student that their research will be marketed with the gentle support of Republic University.

The Faculty derives its strength both from the quality of this research programme as well as from the quality of its educational programme, which appeals to a growing stream of students, both in the framework of regular university programmes as well as in newer educational markets. We cannot ignore our new E-Learning education Center that is very well received by our clientele. This new programme is now a central part of Republic University

The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computer Technologies seek to attain maximum development of the talents of students, Master or PhD students, scientific and non-scientific staff. This is achieved on the one hand by the quality and flexibility of the research and educational environment and on the other hand by making high demands with regard to the effort put in by students and staff alike.

One of the objectives of the Faculty is that the make-up of its students, Undergraduate as well as Graduate that could be on the master or the PhD level and staff populations mirrors that of our society, especially with regard to the participation of women and persons from ethnic minority groups.

The Faculty of Science, engineering and Computer Technologies is a part of the Republic University and also aims at promoting and realizing the aims and objectives of this establishment The Faculty of Sciences, engineering and Computer Technologies is a leading centre of academic research and education with a broad range of strong research groups. The research and educational activities are organised in one comprehensive faculty. This is motivated by developments in both science and society, with new challenges often found in the overlap of several disciplines. It has led to a policy in which the faculty is setting up new research institutes across traditional disciplinary boundaries.
