Students are the lifeblood of Republic University and the delivery of the best possible educational experience to both undergraduates and postgraduates is central to Republic University’s existence.
A number of key initiatives underpin the University’s commitment to encouraging academic excellence and innovation. The enhancement of learning and teaching is a key element in the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy. This diploma race is one you cannot afford to loose. Even if you are not interested in achieving a highly paid job, don’t forget about gains that are personal instead of financial. If you have interests outside your studies, then it is worthwhile sticking at them. The skills you learn from activities outside school and college, such as sports groups, are good at developing competencies, such as communication and leadership.

Most of our numerous M.B.A students received the right recognition for their past and present accomplishment. Having a wide range of experiences also helps when writing CVs or going for job interviews. The trick is explaining to employers what you have learnt during your time at Republic University or at your local college or school and how you can apply that learning and add that extra value to their organisation. Some people think that the demonstration of these skills can be more important than the subject area of your degree, but this obviously depends upon the type of job you are applying for.
What you need to do is identify the strengths that you have and decide how to build upon the areas of weakness, so that you are ready and armed with examples of ‘star stories’ for job applications and interviews. It is also important to start the job hunt early and use connections that you have made through any work experience or employment. Although don’t let it get in the way of your exams!
The fact that there are more students attending Republic University does not make a degree worth less than in previous years. If the market had been saturated with graduates, then surely employers would not pay so much and there would be a rise in graduate unemployment. All signs in the U.S.A as well as in the U.K shows quite the reverse, indicating that the fewer qualifications you obtain the more likely you are to be unemployed and for longer periods. Surveys of employers suggest that in the future, they will need more, not fewer, educated people from all walks of life.

Republic University is committed to developing the entrepreneurial skills of students as part of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to participate in Personal Development Planning to reflect upon their learning and skills acquisition, and to plan, achieve and gather evidence of their educational, career and personal development.
The system of internal review at Courses, pathway and subject level will continue to be refined to ensure that the University can be assured of the quality and standards of its provision.
The funding body’s requirement to publish information on aspects of learning and teaching calls for a high level of data quality. Republic University is committed to providing students with accurate information on proposed or current courses of study through external publications such as the prospectus and internal documents such as pathway specifications.
Increasing use will be made of the student intranet and the Republic University website to facilitate access to these documents. Entry to high-demand subjects is very competitive and Republic University has some of the highest entry requirements in the United Kingdom for our innovative sciences department.

Approaches to learning and teaching have to be reconciled with the reality of a student body engaged in employment. Republic University fully recognises this, and its E-Learning system permits flexibility of student choice.

Generally speaking, the more vocational your course, the more likely you are to find employment. This does not just apply to sciences oriented programmes and engineering, but also to courses such as media studies. In fact, using this example, it has been noted that the graduates who have done media studies actually have a high level of employability, presumably because they have the IT, design and web skills, combined with the qualities of good communication and enthusiasm, that are sought by many employers.
Republic University outlaws all types of discrimination and places a duty upon our teaching body and support staff as well as public authorities to promote this politic.
The specific duties forming part of this promotion are:
Assess whether functions and policies are relevant to our non-discrimination engagement.
Monitor policies to see how they affect non-discrimination equality
Assess and consult on any proposed future policies
Publish the results of consultations, monitoring and assessments
Make sure that the public have access to the information and services provided
Train staff on the duties.
The University is currently embarking on an impact assessment exercise across the University which includes all the above and future non-discrimination training for all members of staff.

Opened in the first of July in the year 1998, the School promotes the advancement of knowledge, through excellence in teaching, research and public service in the area of management and information systems.
